TRD Parts

The TRD Turbo Plan is a TRD certified performance upgrade package for a number of Toyota vehicles. The vehicles undergo a complete transformation with exhaust replacements, ECU tuning and of course the turbo kit installation. Typically the kits offer a 30kw power increase with minimal lag and increased torque - kits are available for the bB and the Vitz RS.

Unfortunately the plan is all inclusive for Japanese customers and the kits cannot be purchased separately so we can't get the kit outside of Japan. An example video below shows the Toyota bB upgrade in a simple drag race. Perhaps TRD will release these kits in Australia through the recent expansion of the TRD arm?

TRD Turbo Plan vs. Standard Toyota Bb 

Toyota Racing Development, the racing arm of Toyota, commonly known as TRD typically supply a huge rang of high quality aftermarket parts for almost every Toyota vehicle. This is fairly well known, but in Japan TRD also regularly launches a range of clothing and accessories to compliment your modified Toyota.

The TRD Wear and Goods collection includes 3 main collections:

A unique product from TRD, the tire arch mold enhances the appearance of your vehicle. The black mold contrasts against your vehicle around the wheel to provide a race-like apperance. The mold has a width of around 18mm (almost 2cm) and would look best on a white vehicle as shown by TRD.

The mold is made of durable rubber, but is only attached using double-sided tape. As mentioned by TRD, the mold may come off after long term use. You would also expect that the tape might not last after extreme weather conditions either.

Might be worth investigating other installation methods if you wish to go with this product. 

TRD has released a new oil cooler kit for the Toyota Altezza. The vehicle specific oil cooler kit enables easy installation with the provided mounting hardware, lines and all fittings. The kit features Earls stainless steel mesh hose and aluminium fittings, however an oil filter relocation it is not included.

An oil cooler is critical for using your Toyota at the race track, even when not racing. Oil temperature is critical to the health of your engine and during track use oil temperatures often reach much higher tempeartures than the road. Speak to your mechanic or experienced tuner to determine the upgrade parts required to take your vehicle out on the track.
